Buckmister Fuller:
Starting With the Universe
Product Description
R. Buckmister Fuller (1895-1983) was one of the great American visionaries of the twentieth century. Best known as the inventor of the Geodesic Dome, Fuller's theories and innovations addressed fields ranging from mathematics, engineering, and environmental science to literature, philosophy, architecture, and visual art. Indeed, Fuller refused to distinguish these spheres as discrete areas of investigation and was among the first truly cross-disciplinary thinkers. Today Fuller's concepts are a touchstone for discussions of environmental conversation, the manufacture and distribution of housing, and information systems. The exhibition will include original examples of Fuller's important works from both private and public collections, including many that have never been exhibited before. This catalogue was published in conjunction with the exhibition.
